Cannabis Products to buy from Black-Owned Businesses

Portland Monthly put together a great list of products you can get (some regional, most available online depending on your state) that come from businesses that are Black-owned.

Here’s the list, consider trying some stuff out!

Royalty Spirits Exotic Berry CBD Mixer

Like so many of us, Chaunci King was drawn to CBD for its anti-anxiety properties. So at the start of 2020, she added a line of CBD-infused mixers to the Royalty Spirits Roster (which formerly comprised only Miru Vodka and Rex Whiskey). She couldn’t have picked a better year to make cannabis cocktails a reality for all us home bartenders! $15

Club Sky High Moon Rocks

Moon Rocks are the stuff of stoner legend. You probably heard whispers of them from your best friend’s Drug Rug–wearing brother who sold you dime bags back in 2006: buds dipped in hash oil then rolled in kief. Right now, they’re hard to find except at Club Sky High in St. Johns. They’re well worth the trek, but at over 42 percent THC, we would not recommend without at least eight hours of You Time set aside. $30/gram

Magic Hour Duct Tape 5-Pack

Magic Hour founders Adriana Ruiz Carlile and Will Perry pride their company on being all-organic-everything. (Even the packaging of their pre-roll packs is made from hemp.) The Duct Tape strain is strong enough that a five-pack can get you through the week, and it has an aftertaste like Choco Starlight mints. $24

LOWD 503 Wifi flower

Love Our Weed Daily (LOWD) offers this dense, trichome-coated flower that still feels illegal to smoke without a prescription. (Read more about the company’s owner on the next page.) And be on the lookout for the new Smoke Like a Grower jars—(literal) cream of the crop product, handpicked and packaged in UV-protected, reusable jars. $62/eighth

Honeybee Hempade Syrups

What started as a tiny food cart operation by Andrea Wade has grown into a staple at grocery stores, bars, and restaurants around the city. Her syrups can be used as a cocktail mixer, pancake topping, or anything in between. The new line, with flavors like mango coconut jasmine and infused 200 mgof CBD per bottle, will hit shelves soon. $40

Tee Nutty Bee CBD-Infused Body Salts

When Tanaira Johnson was diagnosed with autoimmune disease, she wanted to manage it through natural means. So she developed CBD products to “calm [her] inner core for outer relaxation,” and in 2019, founded Tee to share her creations with the world. The Nutty Bee line also has pain-relief roll-on, hair-growth serum, and other cannabinoid-based essentials. $20

Sway CBD Thaisticks

Melody Wright was sick of having to hit up two separate stores (the dispensary for the flower, and the corner store for the wrap) just to smoke a quality blunt in Portland. So she quit her job in the nursing industry and started Sway CBD, a two-person operation with partner Sonia Fay Wright. All products are rolled by hand—including their massive, delicious banana-leaf Thaisticks—and are very low in THC. $33

Viola Blue Hashplant Concentrate

The Viola business model sets it apart: it’s owned and operated throughout the country by a coalition of BIPOC investors, and it has contributed hundreds of thousands of dollars to social equity programs. The company makes everything from vapes to edibles, but so far only their concentrates are available in Oregon. (The Blue Hashplant packs a particularly potent punch.) $28/gram
