Marijuana Education for Third Graders?

While Marijuana has yet to become legal in New Jersey, it’s well on that path after the public has voted in favor of legalizing adult-use Cannabis in the state.

Getting ahead of the curve, one New Jersey lawmaker has introduced a bill that would require education for children on the use and dangers of marijuana as early as elementary school.

“You learn that marijuana is affecting kids younger and younger, and now that it’s going to be legalized it was important to me to expand the education of it,” says Assemblyman Erik Simonsen to a local radio station.

“When it’s legalized, younger kids are going to see it more in their homes and it takes the stigma away, like this isn’t bad cause it’s legal,” he said. “If people think that third graders or fourth graders aren’t experimenting, they’re nuts because I’ve seen it.”
